The Wellington and District Community Centre, the pride of our community was originally built in 1931 and renovated extensively with community help after a fire in 1973. Now despite ongoing maintenance, the Centre is in dire need of multiple and unfeasible upgrades and can no longer meet the needs of our growing community.
Our mission is to honour the proud legacy and tradition of the Community Centre as a sporting, cultural, social and entertainment centre of the community. We will do this by building a multipurpose facility that promotes and encourages accessible sports, recreation, entertainment, fitness and activity for all citizens of this community–seniors, youth and families. This new facility will stimulate economic activity beginning with construction, and will continue to create revenue opportunities for our local businesses.
